This is the heart-stopping moment a plane carrying two people was forced to narrowly miss the tops of trees and buildings, just barely making its way to a nearby runway for a chaotic emergency landing. in Rafah was a ‘precise strike’ targeting two senior Hamas leaders. The strike, which hit Rafah’s Tel Al-Sultan neighborhood, is said to have killed at least 35 people and injured dozens, with the Palestinian Health Ministry reporting that the victims were mostly women and children. Footage from the scene shows the devastation caused by the strike, as fire sweeps through a refugee tent camp and badly burned survivors are pulled from the debris. Such is the gridlock up there that experts believe overcrowding could have caused a recent collapse near a precipice, which led to the disappearance of two climbers. Footage shows hundreds of people snaking up Everest’s Hillary Step, the crowding exacerbated by the summit only being reachable during brief periods of clear weather. Tel Aviv was subjected to the sounds of sirens for the first time in months after Hamas launched a series of rockets from Gaza. The rocket attack, claimed by the Hamas military wing, marks the first long-range strike from Gaza since January. Although no casualties or damage were reported, the Israeli military confirmed that eight projectiles were launched from Rafah in southern Gaza, with ‘a number’ intercepted. Additionally, Palestinian Islamic Jihad also fired rockets at nearby Israeli communities, continuing the sporadic rocket and mortar fire that has become typical along the Gaza border.
