Israel claims deadly strike on Rafah was against ‘legitimate targets’
in Rafah was a ‘precise strike’ targeting two senior Hamas leaders. The strike, which hit Rafah’s Tel Al-Sultan neighborhood, is said to have killed at least 35 people and injured dozens, with the Palestinian Health Ministry reporting that the victims were mostly women and children.
Footage from the scene shows the devastation caused by the strike, as fire sweeps through a refugee tent camp and badly burned survivors are pulled from the debris.
The IDF has said they are ‘aware of reports’ that ‘several civilians’ were harmed in the strike, and that the ‘incident is under review.’ However, they are still insisting that the strike was ‘carried out against legitimate targets under international law.’

Such is the gridlock up there that experts believe overcrowding could have caused a recent collapse near a precipice, which led to the disappearance of two climbers.
Footage shows hundreds of people snaking up Everest’s Hillary Step, the crowding exacerbated by the summit only being reachable during brief periods of clear weather. Deaths and accidents in recent years have prompted the Nepal Mountaineering Association to say that there are ‘more people on Everest than there should be,’ and this influx doesn’t look like it is slowing down any time soon.

Sirens sound after Tel Aviv targeted in rocket attack
Tel Aviv was subjected to the sounds of sirens for the first time in months after Hamas launched a series of rockets from Gaza. The rocket attack, claimed by the Hamas military wing, marks the first long-range strike from Gaza since January. Although no casualties or damage were reported, the Israeli military confirmed that eight projectiles were launched from Rafah in southern Gaza, with ‘a number’ intercepted. Additionally, Palestinian Islamic Jihad also fired rockets at nearby Israeli communities, continuing the sporadic rocket and mortar fire that has become typical along the Gaza border.
The attack comes as Israel continues its controversial ground offensive in Rafah, the last Hamas stronghold in Gaza, but also the last refuge for thousands fleeing the fighting.
